Skill Development_29 th January 2021
A Guest lecture session was held on 29th January, 2021 on the topic "Accounting Skills
through Excel" which was organized by the Association of Commerce for Managerial
Excellence (ACME), an association of the Department of Commerce. The session was
conducted for final-year BCom and BA students. Professor Madhusudan. M, Department of
Commerce, was the resource person for the session. It was held online using the Zoom and
YouTube platform. The main objective of the Skill Development session on Microsoft Excel
was to provide job-related knowledge to the students and to impart skills among the students
systematically, so that they may learn quickly.
Professor Madhusudan. M explained how accounts can be maintained using Excel. To make
the students understand the concept better, many practical examples were given based on
Accounting and its rules.
The skill development session was attended by more than 300 students of final year BCom
and BA. The session helped the students to understand the importance of Excel in the field of
accounting and how it helps to interpret the results easily. It was a very enriching and
informative session.
